Price increase from the 1st February 2024

Due to the rising costs of rent, services, insurance, utilities and the cost of living we have no alternative but to increase our hourly rate for the workshop and the body shop.

Unfortunately this will come into effect as of  the 1st February 2024.

All ongoing work will be charged at a new rate of £40 per hour.

All new and recommencement work will be charged at the  new rate of £45 per hour.

We do believe this is still a competitive price for the work we carry out

Currently we are not vat registered but this could change in the future.

This is the first increase we have made since we opened but in the current financial climate

We can no longer sustain it.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

If you wish to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact us.

            Armstrong Siddeley

Introduced In 1945 a day after the end of the second world war Armstrong Siddeley produced  a completely new model of cars which was of high quality. Sports and saloon cars which offered luxurious interior trim, very generous rear seating and performance only previously found in true sports car of the day.

Not many  cars were manufactured mainly due to their high price, not much less than a comparable Rolls Royce or Bentley and aimed at the same market. Now a rare car.

                Sapphire 346

The 346 was the first of the Sapphires introduced late in 1952 for sale in 1953 and continuing until 1958. The six-cylinder 3,435 cc engine had hemi-spherical combustion chambers and could be fitted with the option of single or twin stromberg

carburettors(£25 extra)which increased the output from 125 to 150 bhp (93 to 112 kW) giving a top speed in excess of 100 mph (161 km/h). The front suspension was independent coil springs with a rigid axle and leaf springs at the rear.

The body was available as a four- or six-light (two or three windows on each side) at the same cost and with either a bench or individual front seats. The seats were finished in leather, with the dashboard and door-cappings in walnut veneer. A heater was standard.

Taxi 3.jpg

Morris - Commercial began building London Taxiis to comply with the Metropoltian Police regualtions in 1928. The G2SW 'Senior -Six' introduced in 1938 is unsual in being one of only two models of london taxis to have a six cylinder engine. Its predecssor, the Morris - Commercial G2S 'Junior -Six' being the other. The Engine in this Taxi is an overhead valve Morris unit and mated with to a 4 speed synchromesh gearbox. a work drive rear axle with rod operated brakes. The body is the standard factory landaulet manufactored by Morris Bodies ltd. It is thought that less than 100 Morris-Commercial G2SW taxis were made before the war halted production. This is taxi is one of only three example known to have survived making it incredibly rare.

It did make an appearance in the film starring Donald Sutherland ' Eye of the Needle' 25mins in
